Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Apai Jetty / Ara Dinawan Island / Boat & Shore Snorkelling / Kayaking / Beach Activities / Bonfire

08:00 Hrs: Enjoy a convenient pick-up from your Kota Kinabalu hotel lobby or the airport, and transfer 40 minutes overland to Apai Jetty. 

09:00 Hrs: Depart from the jetty. Your boat journey should take about 20 minutes. 

09:20 Hrs: Enjoy a welcome drink upon arrival at Ara Dinawan Island. Here on this private island, you will be treated to an exclusive glamping retreat with luxury tent villas and a range of fun beach activities. 

10:00 Hrs: Begin your island adventure with a snorkelling session, both by boat and along the shore, exploring the underwater world below. 

12:00 Hrs: Head over to the restaurant for lunch. 

14:00 Hrs: After lunch, it is time to check in and settle into your tent(s). Each tent comes equipped with a private ensuite bathroom, heated showers, and eco-friendly toiletries. 

15:00 Hrs: High tea is served at the restaurant. 

17:30 Hrs: Choose between a variety of beach activities: a sunset walk to the Secret Beach, beach football, or volleyball. 

19:00 Hrs: Enjoy your dinner at the restaurant.

21:00 Hrs: End your night sitting around a bonfire, warming up in the glow of the fire as the stars twinkle above you. You can also opt for Fun Fishing at the jetty.

  • Please ensure you are holding air ticket to Kota Kinabalu. 
  • Effective as of 1st September 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia will be implementing a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTx). Foreign tourists will be required to pay a flat rate of RM10/room/night regardless of accommodation star level. The TTx is to be paid upon check-in. Malaysians or permanent residents residing in Malaysia are exempted from TTx and is required to present a valid identification upon check-in for the exemption. 
  • Children 12 years old or younger must be accompanied by an adult. 
  • All common areas (Dining Area and Clubhouse) have 24-hour electricity powered by solar energy. Electricity in the tents is available daily from 3:00 PM to 9:00 AM, provided by a generator.
  • A surcharge applies for additional guests, which includes full-board meals and an extra mattress. 
  • For cancellations made 4 to 7 days before the activity, 50% of the tour fee will be forfeited, in line with supplier terms and conditions. 
  • This package is based on join-in basis of shared guide and transport vehicle.  Private Guide or Tour is available upon request at a reasonable fee.  Please inform us when making the bookings.  
  • Activities are subject to weather conditions and may be re-organised to best meet operational situations. 
  • Amazing Borneo Tours does not guarantee wildlife sightings. 
  • Departure time is approximate and varies from different hotels due to traffic conditions, please reconfirm with our staffs. Should the transport be delayed, please call the relevant telephone number as stated on the voucher before making alternative arrangements.

  • Islands are one of Sabah's most popular attractions, but they can get crowded during weekends, public holidays, and peak seasons (especially from July to August). Plan your visit accordingly to enjoy a more relaxed experience.
  • To avoid getting your valuables wet, bring a waterproof bag or dry bag. This will ensure your belongings stay safe and dry during island activities.
  • Don’t forget to pack SPF50 sunscreen and an umbrella to protect your skin from the sun while you enjoy your island adventure.
