Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Kota Kinabalu / Layang Layang Island

  • 0415hrs: Arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Meet up with Layang Layang Island Resort operations staff and check-in at Counter B15 for flight to Layang Layang Island.
  • 0530hrs: Depart Kota Kinabalu. Approximately 1 hour flight to Layang Layang Island from Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
  • 0630hrs: Arrival at Layang Layang Island Resort. Be greeted by the stunning turquoise waters of the oceanic atoll as you come into land at Layang Layang Island. Resort Orientation. Check-in to Layang Layang Island Resort where you will undergo a short briefing of your accommodation and the resort facilities.
  • 0930hrs: Main Breakfast. Enjoy a hearty buffet breakfast at the resort restaurant.
  • 1100hrs: Check Dive. A relaxed, introductory dive with a PADI certified instructor or divemaster to familiarise yourself with the equipment and practice basic skills.
  • 1300hrs: Lunch. Enjoy a delicious lunch meal to refuel for the rest of your day.
  • 1500hrs: 2nd Dive. Dive session at one of the 12 dive sites of Layang Layang Island.
  • 1700hrs: Tea Break. Relax and unwind after a long day with a hot beverage and afternoon snacks.
  • 1900hrs: Dinner. Enjoy a delicious buffet dinner served at the resort restaurant. End the evening singing your heart out to your favourite songs! Return to your room and hit the sack for the night.

  • 0700hrs: Light Breakfast. Start your day with a light breakfast before heading out for your first dive.

  • 1100hrs: 2nd Dive. Dive session at one of the 12 dive sites of Layang Layang Island.
  • 1300hrs: Lunch. Enjoy a delicious lunch meal to refuel for the rest of your day.

  • 1100hrs: Tour to Bird Island Sanctuary. A visit to Bird Island lagoon to watch hundreds of migratory birds such as swallows, egrets, brown foot boobies, crested terns and more, nesting on this predator-free breeding ground. This is a unique attraction to Layang Layang Island.
  • 1300hrs: Lunch. Enjoy a delicious lunch meal to refuel for the rest of your day.
  • 1700hrs: Tea Break. Relax and unwind after a long day with a hot beverage and afternoon snacks.  
  • 1900hrs: Dinner & Check Out. Enjoy a delicious buffet dinner served at the resort restaurant. Check out of Layang Layang Island Resort in preparation for an early departure the following morning.

  • 0815hrs: Arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Arrival in Kota Kinabalu signals the end of your tour. End of Tour

  • Please note for 6D5N Diver Package (Malaysian Market) is 2 boat dives / day, where 6D5N Diver Package (International Market) and 6D5N Diver Package (Singapore Market) are 3 boat dives / day except arrival day, which is 2 boat dives.
  • Please contact the Operation Staff on arrival day in Kota Kinabalu to reconfirm your flight to Layang Layang Island.
  • Kindly arrive at KKIA TERMINAL 1 for check-in at least one & a half (1 1/2) hours before flight departure time.
  • There is no air ticket issued but verification is via passport or I/C of guest by our Operation Staff at check-in Counter B 15, Departure Hall. The boarding pass will be issued thereafter.
  • Baggage allowance is 20kg per person inclusive of hand baggage. Excess baggage is chargeable by the Airline Operator at MYR 15.00 per kg per way which is payable at the Resort. Otherwise, storage rental is available at KKIA Terminal 1.
  • Please refer to our Booking Confirmation for the flight schedule of Layang Layang Island.
  • Layang Layang Island Resort is not liable for any and all non-utilization of services. Layang Layang Island Resort assumes no liability for lost or stolen personal belongings during the length of the trip.
  • Layang Layang Island Resort reserves the right to alter or cancel any itinerary or tours due to adverse weather conditions or unforeseen operational conditions.  
  • Layang Layang Island Resort shall not be liable nor responsible for any cancellation or changes in scheduled flights or missed connections due to whatsoever reason. Hence, purchase of travel insurance is essential to avoid financial losses.
  • Sightings of hammerhead sharks are not guaranteed however are most common during the months of March – August. 

  • Boat journey to the island may not be suitable for individuals suffering from the following ailments: heart or lung conditions, recent surgery, back or spinal surgery, back problems / injury / fracture, arthritis, osteoporosis or other similar spinal and pelvic diseases.
  • Your belongings may get wet so do bring along waterproof bags to keep your belongings nice and dry!
  • Before going out to have some fun under the sun, do bring along a SPF50+ sunscreen / sunblock and an umbrella to protect your skin from sunburns.
  • Though it is never expected, tipping is always appreciated.
