For a historical immersion, the Tua Pek Kong Temple provides an interesting glimpse of the local culture as it is the oldest temple in Miri and one of the few buildings that survived the World War II bombing. 

There are plenty of opportunities for shopping in Miri, and you will have the chance to visit the handicraft shops and tamu (weekend market) here. And, of course, a visit to Sarawak is only complete with a visit to shops selling Kek Lapis, a traditional layered cake, for you to bring back home as a souvenir.

One of the most iconic landmarks you will see is the Jame'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, the country's largest mosque adorned with 29 golden domes and four minarets. With a capacity of up to 5,000 worshippers, it is one of the two state mosques you can find in Brunei. The other one is the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque, which people often say is one of the most beautiful in the Asia Pacific. 

You will then proceed to the Royal Regalia Museum, which showcases exhibits relating to the coronation and the Silver Jubilee celebration of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah's rule. After that, you will visit Kampung Ayer, the world's largest stilt settlement that houses over 30,000 residents, earning the nickname "Venice of the East". 

Brunei is home to the world's largest residential palace at the Istana Nurul Iman. It boasts 1,788 rooms, a 5000-guest banquet hall, and a mosque that can fit 1,500 worshippers. Your tour ends with a visit to Jerudong Park, one of Southeast Asia's largest and most expensive amusement parks.
