Day 1 Kota Kinabalu / Scenic Countryside / Bavanggazo (Rungus) Village Visit / "Tip of Borneo" / Rungus Long House 0830hrs: Meet & greet at your hotel lobby, where we will then whisk you away to the sunny shores that grace the Northern most tip of Borneo. 3 hours from the city marks Kudat, where the South China Sea and Sulu Sea converge. This little slice of paradise, bafflingly beautiful with the harmony of sunny skies, blue seas, palm tree was then then first capital of British North Borneo Chartered Company then. The journey will bring you through scenic countryside, paddy fields, villages, palm oil plantations; local stalls selling, handicrafts and knick-knacks for souvenirs. Along the way, make a few pit stops at Tuaran, a bustling little town with tree-lined boulevard-style streets. Walk across the suspension (hanging) bridge, visit the peanut's stall and capture panoramic shots of the distinctive nine-storey Chinese Pagoda, whose approaches are dominated by vividly painted guardian deities. Next up, we proceed to the Bavanggazo Village for a longhouse visit. Built entirely using local materials, it is home to the Rungus people community, a sub-tribe of the indigenous Kadazandusun. Observe their very own unique bead work, lifestyle and costumes. Lunch will be served Rungus syle. After the hefty traditional native lunch, cruise on over to the Northern Tip of Borneo, also known as Tanjung Simpang Mengayau which means 'lingering junction' as it is here that the South China Sea lingers and meets the Sulu Seas flowing from the east. Take a stroll on the lavish expanse of white sand that comes complimentary with a breath-taking view of dramatic rocky outcrops. The northern most tip of Borneo is graced with wide publicity through popular mass media from the 2003 book entitled KUDAT. A short drive to the Kudat town to get a whiff of the nostalgia that envelopes the town. Then its back to Bavanggazo Long House Village as the rest of the nights is all yours to indulge in. A traditional dinner feast kicks off with a cultural performance of the Anggalang Magunatip (a traditional dance performed by Murut tribes in the past to welcome triumphant battle groups or victorious head hunting parties) and Rungus dance. Day 2 "Gong" Village Visit / Borneo HoneyBee Center / Kota Kinabalu Rise amidst the authentic Longhouse settings of a Rungus household, this comes with breakfast and farewells. Depart for “Gong” making village, well known for local artisans and their exceptional craftsmanship in making ‘Gongs’, a traditional musical instrument rich with history and meaning. Moving forward to the sweet sticky business of bees at the Borneo HoneyBee Centre. Get a feel of what actually goes down at the honey farm and ofcourse, a taste of raw honey straight from the comb! Hungry stomachs will be settled in a local restaurant. 1500hrs: Head back to Kota Kinabalu and bid farewell to the sunny splendors of Kudat. Breakfast / Lunch End
