After passing through the immigration border, your journey in Brunei begins at the Billionth Barrel Monument in Kuala Belait. Erected in 1991, this landmark stands as a testament to Brunei's oil production history, celebrating the achievement of producing the billionth barrel of oil in the Seria onshore oil field. Enjoy a leisure boat ride to explore Kampung Ayer, also known as the Venice of the East. Make several stops under the natural mangrove trees and swamps to spot birds and wildlife, including the rare Proboscis monkeys unique to Borneo Island. Visit a local home for light refreshments before continuing to explore the village and capture picture-worthy moments. Return to the city and proceed to Gadong Night Market, the largest night market in Brunei. The bustling market offers a wide choice of local treats and exotic food at affordable prices. Day 2 Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque / Royal Regalia / Malay Technology Museum / Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque / Istana Nurul Iman / Immigration Border / Miri Your second day starts now! After enjoying the hotel breakfast, visit the awe-inspiring Jame Asr Hassanil Mosque commissioned by Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, with 29 golden domes to honor the 29th Sultan of Brunei. Explore the intricate architecture and the exquisite materials used in its construction. Visit the Royal Regalia, where the treasures of the Sultan and the Royalty come to life. Immerse yourself in the grandeur of the Silver and Golden Jubilee commemorations, paying tribute to Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the 29th ruler of Brunei. Stop at a local restaurant and enjoy your lunch break. Next, learn about the traditional technology used by Kampong Ayer residents at Malay Technology Museum through exhibits showcasing the old Bruneian life on the water village, including dioramas depicting boat-making, fishing, metalworking, and goldsmithing. Explore one of the most beautiful mosques in the Asia Pacific, Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, named after Omar Ali Saifuddien III.
