The 26th of April 2019 saw the start of the Regatta Lepa in Semporna, with the lepas out on the waters flaunting their colourful sails and residents and visitors dotting the coast to witness the annual event.

An average climber takes two days to scale the mountain, casually.. without hurry. However, professional mountain runners can clock as fast as 4 hours. Sounds outrageous? Well, that’s how things roll in a climbathon!

Later this month the famous Kota Belud “Tamu Besar” which directly translates as “Big Market” will be held in Sabah.

Following the anniversary of the tragic earthquake that shook mount Kinabalu last year, a promising new trail and many new safety features are being added to Malaysia's most famous mountains iconic slopes.

KAAMATAN is an annual event widely celebrated throughout Sabah on the month of May. It is celebrated to commemorate the “Greatest Love of all”, the relationship between Creator and Creation.

The Borneo International Marathon (BIM) has been one of Sabah Tourism’s annual premier events ever since its inception in 2008. Initially, BIM was organized by Championship Sport Events Sdn. Bhd., spearheaded by Mr. Andrew Voon as the Race Director as well as the person instrumental in organizing the Borneo International Marathon.The first BIM had three categories : 10km, 21km and 42km and was participated by a mere 529 runners.

The magnitude 5.9 earthquake that occurred at the Ranau epicentre on June 5th was one of the most devastating occurrences that happened in 2015, causing 18 deaths and grievously affecting many of the victims’ families and friends. The people who are the greatest affected by the earthquake are  the mountain guides and the porters who immediately lost their main source of income indefinitely. In order to offer assistance to parties in need, Amazing Borneo has set up the Amazing Initiative -- a crowdfunding effort initiated to help raise funds for the mountain guides as well as families of the deceased Robbi Sapinggi and Joseph Selungin, who were former staff of Amazing Borneo. On September 4th 2015, Amazing Borneo presented donation cheques to three parties, namely the representatives of the Persatuan Malim Gunung Sabah (Sabah Mountain Guide Association), Rozitah Daimin (widow of the late Joseph Selungin’s) and Reena Joshi (widow of the late Robbi Sapinggi).

The pageant week for the Miss Sabah Tourism 2015 finally culminated with the Gala Dinner last night (Friday, 19th June), which was held at the Hakka Association Hall, Tanjung Lipat. If you ask us, there’s really nothing better to do on a Friday night than having a sumptuous dinner in the company of beauties!

We managed to catch up with finalists of the Miss Sabah Tourism 2015 pageants amidst their hectic schedule to ask them about their experience during pageant week and what they have to say about Amazing Borneo Tours.

The Miss Tourism Sabah pageant returns to Sabah after a 10-year hiatus. As a way of giving the pageant a warm welcome back and as an initiative to promote tourism in Sabah, Amazing Borneo Tours & Events has offered to become one of the sponsors for the event. It is hoped that this initiative will help revive Sabah’s image as one of the best nature tourism destinations in the world following the harrowing magnitude 5.9 earthquake that hit Sabah recently.

For the first time in 10 years, Sabah is once again organizing the Miss Sabah Tourism 2015 pageant in order to select the right representative to represent Sabah in the Miss Malaysia Tourism 2015 National Grand Finals.
