Begin with a convenient pick-up from your hotel lobby or airport and a scenic 30-minute drive to Tamparuli Town.
Stroll across the famous "Jambatan Tamparuli" suspension bridge, a significant landmark in Sabah that’s steeped in local folklore and has even inspired its own song and theatrical production.
From there, continue through the winding mountain roads of the Crocker Range, traveling for another hour until you reach Nabalu Handicraft Market. Perched on a hillside, this charming market is a lively meeting spot where locals sell fresh fruits, vegetables, and unique handicrafts. Don’t forget to stop by the nearby viewing platform for a stunning panorama of Mount Kinabalu.
Stop by Marisini Recreation Park, a family-friendly destination complete with a selfie garden and a rabbit farm that visitors of all ages will enjoy.
Next, visit the Kundasang War Memorial, a heartfelt tribute to the soldiers who perished in the Sandakan Death Marches during WWII, and a place that remembers the sacrifices made by local communities during the war.
Conclude the day with a stop at Kundasang Market to pick up fresh produce and local herbs before checking in to your mountain resort.
Begin your morning with a sunrise hike up Sosodikon Hill, a short and beginner-friendly trail that rewards you with sweeping views of the village and its surroundings.
Head over to Desa Cow Farm, popularly known as the "Little New Zealand of Sabah." Here, you’ll have the chance to see Holstein Friesian cows up close, feed the calves, and taste fresh dairy products such as yoghurt and gelato. This farm produces an impressive 150,000 litres of fresh milk each month.
Continue to the Alpaca Club, the only place in Sabah where you can observe and hand-feed these adorable animals.
End the day with a visit to Kundasang Farmville, which features attractions like an aquaponic farm, a selfie garden, an ice cream bus, and a cosy café.
After breakfast, check out and proceed to Kinabalu National Park, Malaysia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site and part of the Kinabalu UNESCO Global Geopark. Situated 1,500 meters above sea level, the park spans 754 sq. km and is home to Mount Kinabalu, one of the highest peaks in Southeast Asia, surrounded by lush valleys and often shrouded in clouds.
The park’s extraordinary biodiversity includes approximately 4,500 plant species, with 1,500 species of orchids, 77 of which are unique to this area. You’ll also find 289 species of birds and 290 types of butterflies. Take a guided walk in the Botanical Garden to experience this rich diversity firsthand, including carnivorous pitcher plants and rare orchid varieties—a true paradise for nature enthusiasts.
Continue your journey to Poring Hot Spring, where you can indulge in a relaxing soak in Japanese-style open-air tubs filled with natural, mineral-rich spring water. For a refreshing option, take a dip in the cold pool located nearby.
Embark on the Canopy Treetop Walk, a 105-meter-long suspension walkway elevated 30 meters above the ground, where you can witness the rainforest from a unique perspective and perhaps spot some rare bird species. A brief 20-minute hike leads to the Canopy Walkway.
Afterwards, transfer to Sabah Tea Garden, where you’ll check in to your cosy cottage nestled within the sprawling tea estate. Situated 700 meters above sea level, this tranquil retreat offers picturesque views of Mount Kinabalu, creating an enchanting setting as the sun begins to set.
Following breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of the tea plantation and factory. Discover the intricacies of organic, pesticide-free tea cultivation, from the harvesting process to packaging and brewing, all set against the soothing sounds of the forest and refreshing mountain air.
After checking out, visit a nearby fish spa for a natural pedicure, where local ikan pelian fish gently nibble at your feet, leaving them soft and refreshed.
