Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Sandakan / Sepilok Nature Lodge / Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre / Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre / Rainforest Discovery Centre / Sepilok Nature Lodge

Arrive at Sandakan Airport and begin your adventure with a visit to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Watch semi-wild orangutans during their feeding time at 10:00 Hrs, and learn about their rehabilitation process through an engaging video at the Nature Education Centre. Stroll along a scenic wooden boardwalk through the rainforest to reach the feeding platform for an unforgettable encounter with these fascinating creatures.

Next, head to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to observe the world's smallest bears and discover their unique behaviours and conservation stories.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC). Explore its canopy walkways and botanical gardens, immersing yourself in the region's incredible biodiversity and vibrant birdlife.

Conclude your day with a delightful seafood dinner at a local restaurant before heading to Sepilok Nature Lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 2 - Sepilok Nature Lodge / Gomantong Cave / Bilit Kinabatangan River Cruise

Start your day with breakfast at the lodge. At 09:00 Hrs, you will be picked up from the hotel for the journey to the Gomantong Cave, renowned for its spectacular limestone formations and swiftlet bird nests. Join a guided tour to explore the cave's ecosystem and its ecological importance.

From there, proceed to Bilit for a day trip to the Kinabatangan River. Embark on a river cruise, where you can observe wildlife such as proboscis monkeys, hornbills, and pygmy elephants in their natural surroundings. A delicious lunch will be served at Bilit, followed by time to relax.

End the day with a satisfying dinner in Bilit before returning to Sepilok Nature Lodge for another peaceful night.

Day 3 - Sepilok Nature Lodge / Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary / Sandakan Airport

After breakfast at the lodge, visit the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, where you can witness these iconic primates during their feeding sessions and observe their intriguing behaviours within the mangrove habitat.

Conclude your tour with lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to Sandakan Airport for your onward journey.
