Day 1 - Lahad Datu / Silam Coast Conservation Area / Blue Rings Reef / Pulau Tabun / Pulau Baik / Tumunong Hallu Beach

15 Hrs: Your journey begins with a warm welcome at Lahad Datu Airport or your hotel, where you’ll be met by our team for a seamless pick-up. Before setting off on your adventure, make a quick stop at our tour office for registration and a short briefing on what’s in store for the day ahead.

45 Hrs: Kickstart your morning with a hearty local breakfast at a charming restaurant in town. Savour Sabah’s unique flavours, whether it’s a comforting bowl of spicy Tom Yam with fresh seafood, a classic Kaya toast with local ‘pulled tea’ (Teh Tarik), or a more familiar Western-style breakfast. Take this time to relax and soak in the vibrant morning atmosphere of Lahad Datu.

30 Hrs: After breakfast, embark on a scenic 40-minute drive to the Silam Coast Conservation Area (SCCA), a protected marine sanctuary under Sabah Parks. This untouched coastal haven is renowned for its submerged karst formations and flourishing coral reefs, serving as a vital ecological bridge between the ocean and the towering Mount Silam.

Your first stop within SCCA is Menara Kayangan, or ‘Tower of Heaven’, a 30-meter-high observation tower that provides breathtaking panoramic views of Darvel Bay, the surrounding rainforest, and the sparkling Celebes Sea.

00 Hrs: Leaving the misty heights of Mount Silam, take a short drive to Tumunong Hallu Jetty, where a boat awaits to whisk you off to the magnificent Blue Rings Reef (BRR).

00 Hrs: Next, journey to Pulau Tabun, an uninhabited island teeming with birdlife. This small, unspoiled island is home to the elusive Philippine Megapode (‘Tambun’ bird).

30 Hrs: Continue your maritime adventure to Pulau Baik, home to a historic Japanese Shipwreck known as Maiden Oasis.

00 Hrs: After a morning of adventure, enjoy a well-deserved seafood feast at Payang Beach. Indulge in a selection of local delicacies, featuring Flavors that blend sweet, spicy, sour, and savoury elements, all while taking in the stunning beachfront views.

30 Hrs: As the afternoon unfolds, return to Tumunong Hallu Beach. A relaxing hi-tea session will be served as you soak in the sun-kissed atmosphere before heading back. Shower and changing facilities are available for your comfort.

00 Hrs: As the day’s explorations come to a close, return to Lahad Datu and check in to your hotel for the night. The remainder of the evening is yours to spend at leisure – explore the town, enjoy a quiet dinner, or simply rest and reflect on an incredible day of adventure.
