Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Kota Kinabalu / North Borneo Cruises

  • Kopivosian! Welcome to Kota Kinabalu! On arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport, you will be transferred to your choice of hotel by our airport shuttle. The timing will be based on your flight arrival time. This afternoon is yours to relax and settle in. This evening, depart for sunset cruise onboard North Borneo Cruises - Kota Kinabalu offers some of the most beautiful sunsets in Asia. While on board the comfortable boat, you get to enjoy the cool sea breeze, Kota Kinabalu city view, and romantic panoramic view of the sunset sinking into the horizon of the South China Sea. Indulge in delicious buffet spread while enjoying the live band performance - the sunset cruise is a perfect way to end the day! Return back to hotel.

Day 2 - Tamparuli Town/Nabalu/ Kinabalu National Park/ Poring Hot Spring/ Treetop Canopy Walk

  • After breakfast at your hotel, meet at hotel lobby and proceed for a scenic 1/2 hr drive to Tamparuli Town. Visit Historical Wooden Shop houses of olden days and walk across the “Jambatan Tamparuli”, a suspension bridge which is the famous landmark in that small town to get a feel of kampong lifestyle.
  • Thereafter, proceed to Kinabalu Park. Journey will take approximately 1 1/2 hours passing by villages and paddy fields along mountainous roads that wind along the Crocker range. Along the way, make a brief stop at Nabalu. Nabalu is a place where the local natives gather to sell local produce, fruits, home grown vegetables and handicraft souvenirs.
  • On arrival at Kinabalu Park, you will notice the change in air temperature. Enjoy the refreshing and cooling air as you proceed for a walk along the nature trails in the Botanical Garden. If the day is clear, you may even spot a majestic view of Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain between the New Guinea and Himalaya. Kinabalu Park boasts an estimate of 4,500 species of plants which include 1,500 species of orchids, 77 of which are endemic to Kinabalu. The park also supports 289 species of birds and 290 different types of butterflies.
  • After the walk, depart for lunch at a local restaurant.
  • After lunch, depart for another interesting wonder, the Poring Hot Spring. At approximately 47 kilometers from Kinabalu Park, Poring Hot Spring got its name from the tall bamboo plant that is abundant in that area. At this natural hot spring, there are Japanese baths where visitors can soak themselves and let the invigorating sulfurous water stimulate the body. It is believed to have curative powers. Visitors can also try the Treetop Canopy Walk, where suspension bridge are suspended at the top of the tropical jungle. Experience the height of 41 metres above the ground and length of 157 metres. A 20 minutes hike is needed to reach the Canopy Walkway.
  • After a relaxing soak, bid Kinabalu park goodbye as you return back to your respective hotel.

Day 3 - Beautiful Twin Island Hopping

  • Breakfast at Hotel. Transfer to Jetty for a 20 min boat ride to the famous Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. The Park is made up of five islands, characterized by shallow waters, sumptuous coral gardens and all boast splendid white sandy beaches. First stop is Manukan Island, where you can immerse yourself in the crystal clear waters, bask in the sun with a book in your hand while enjoying the island life or choose to feed the fishes. Spend designated time on the first island before proceeding to Sapi island, 10 minutes away by boat ride, for BBQ lunch. After lunch, you are free to explore the short forest trails, swim or participate in activities like Snorkeling, Parasailing, Banana Boating, Fly-fishing and Windsurfing at own expense. You can also laze around the Beach soaking the tropical sun. You may try the Sea Walking Adventure (own expense) at Sapi Island where you wear a special Underwater Helmet Diving System and dive underwaters to walk the seabed, touch marine plants, and corals, and feed tropical fishes. No swimming or diving skills are needed. In the late afternoon, prepare to pack up and standby by the island jetty for return boat ride to Kota Kinabalu jetty and onward transfer to your respective hotel.

Day 4 - Home Sweet Home (Or Extend Tour)

  • Breakfast in hotel. Sadly your tour comes to an end after breakfast. Check out and bid farewell to Kota Kinabalu as you will be transfer to Kota Kinabalu International Airport for your flight back to your next destination. The timing will be based on your flight departure time.

About Kinabalu Park & Poring Hot Spring:

  • Kinabalu Park is at high altitude approximately 1500 meter above sea level - it can get cold.
  • The Canopy Walkway is approximately 40 meters above the ground - not for the faint Hearted.
  • Poring Hot Spring opening hours: 08:00 Hrs - 17:00 Hrs (Daily), Canopy Walkway last entry 15:00 Hrs.
  • Poring Hot Spring Outdoor Bathtubs usage is chargeable at  MYR 10/- per tub.
  • There are ten (10) standard and five (05) deluxe Indoor Bathubs at Poring Hot Spring. Rates are at MYR 25/- per hour per standard indoor bathtub and MYR 35/- per hour per deluxe indoor bathtub (subject to availability).
  • The Slide Pool located in Poring Hot Springs is closed every Monday for maintenance. Guests are able to purchase the entrance fee (at own expense) to Slide Pool for MYR 3/- per person. 
  • Kindly take note that camera fees apply before entering Canopy Walk. Cameras will be charged MYR 5 each and Video Cameras / Camcoders will be charged MYR 30 each.
  • Butterfly Farm located in Poring Hot Springs is closed on every Mondays.
  • Depending on the season, you may get the rare chance to spot the Rafflesia flowers in bloom, which only lasts for 3 to 5 days. They are located at the private gardens beside Poring Hot Springs. Entrance fees are at MYR 30 per person though this will be at your own expenses.
  • Sunset Cruise is subject to weather and sea conditions.
  • Standard check-in and check-out times for most hotels & resorts are 1400Hrs & 1200Hrs. However, check-in & check-out times may vary depending on each accommodation. So kindly check with us to get accurate check-in & check-out times of your accommodation.
  • Effective as of 1st September 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia will be implementing a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTX). Foreign tourists will be required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night regardless of accommodation star level.The TTx is to be paid upon check-in. Malaysians or permanent residents residing in Malaysia are exempted from TTx and is required to present a valid identification upon check-in for the exemption.
  • This package is based on join-in basis of shared guide and transport vehicle.  Private Guide or Tour is available upon request at a reasonable fee.  Please inform us when making the bookings.

  • Stay warm! You may bring a sweater along with you as it can get a wee bit chilly up in Kinabalu Park.
  • For any Island tour, if you're interested in water sports (ie banana boat, seawalking, parasailing, etc), be sure to bring along a little bit of extra cash as these activities are not included in our tour package.
  • Before going out for some fun in the sun, you may bring along some SPF50 sunscreen and an umbrella to protect your skin.
