Day 1 - Kota Kinabalu / North Borneo Cruises - Sunset Dinner Cruise

Welcome to the vibrant heart of Kota Kinabalu! Upon your arrival, we'll whisk you away from the airport to a 4-star hotel for check-in.  

After settling in, seize the opportunity to dive into the lively streets of Kota Kinabalu at your leisure. 

As the afternoon fades to evening, at 16:45 Hrs, we'll escort you to the Sutera Marina Jetty, setting the stage for an evening you won't soon forget aboard the North Borneo Cruises. Embark on a captivating Sunset Dinner Cruise, where the splendor of the South China Sea unfolds before your eyes, cruising by scenic islands and quaint water villages along the enchanting coast of Sabah. 

Ascend to the upper deck for breathtaking sea panoramas, basked in the glow of a setting sun, complemented by a soothing breeze. Below deck, a cozy, air-conditioned space with locally infused decor welcomes you, where live acoustic melodies weave through the air, enhancing the evening's ambiance. 

Indulge in a buffet dinner that showcases Sabah's most coveted flavours, under the backdrop of a sky transitioning from the hues of sunset to the sparkle of stars. Day 2 - Tamparuli Town / Nabalu Market / Desa Cow Farm / Mountain Resort

Prepare for a day brimming with adventure as we collect you from your hotel lobby for an unforgettable journey into the heart of Sabah's verdant landscapes.   

Your trip kicks off with a stop at the charming town of Tamparuli. Here, a stroll across the iconic "Jambatan Tamparuli" bridge immerses you in the town's allure. 

As you ascend the serpentine roads of the Crocker Range, the adventure continues to Nabalu town, a stopover offering fresh local produce, delightful snacks, and unique handicrafts and souvenirs.   

Indulge in a delightful lunch at a local eatery before embarking on your next adventure to the Desa Cow Farm.  

As you navigate the winding roads, with each turn presenting a more stunning view than the last, you'll know you've arrived at this idyllic destination when the breathtaking expanse of the farm unfolds before you, nestled at the foothills of Mount Kinabalu. Spanning 199 hectares of unspoiled beauty, Desa Cattle Farm offers an unparalleled experience where you'll have the unique opportunity to mingle with the cattle, feed the adorable calves, and savor dairy products fresh from the source. 

After your farm visit, make your way to Kundasang and settle into the comfort of a mountain resort, where you'll immediately notice the refreshing, high-altitude air. Enjoy the freedom to explore the resort at your leisure. 

Your day concludes with a sumptuous dinner followed by a restful overnight stay amidst the peaceful embrace of the mountains.

Day 3 - Canopy Treetop Walk / Poring Hot Spring / Kinabalu UNESCO Global Geopark / Kota Kinabalu

Wake up to your third day in Sabah with a magical morning, as the mists part to reveal the sun rising over Mount Kinabalu.  

Start your day with an exhilarating Canopy Treetop Walk at Poring Hot Springs, offering stunning views from 60 meters above the jungle floor after a brief hike. Relax afterward in the therapeutic Japanese-style open-air sulphur baths amidst beautiful gardens, or opt for a refreshing cold dip.  

Refuel with lunch at a quaint local restaurant, then explore Kinabalu UNESCO Global Geopark, Malaysia's first UNESCO World Heritage Site! Located 1,500 meters above sea level and covering 754 square kilometers, it houses Mount Kinabalu, one of Southeast Asia's highest peaks. The park's crisp air and a guided stroll through the Botanical Garden reveal its rich biodiversity, offering insights into the park's unique ecological system. 

You will pause for a scrumptious lunch at a local eatery before going back to Kota Kinabalu, where the rest of the day is yours to unwind or continue your city exploration.

Day 4 - Free and Easy / Kota Kinabalu Jetty / Gaya Island Resort

Embark on a leisurely morning as today is free and easy. Savor your breakfast and check out from your hotel, preferably by 11:00 hrs. 

Following checkout, you'll be transferred to the jetty, where a scheduled speedboat awaits to whisk you away to the enchanting 5-star Gaya Island Resort. 

Following a swift 10-minute speedboat journey, you'll arrive at a sanctuary of natural beauty and serene luxury, nestled within the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. The friendly and attentive staff will welcome you warmly upon arrival. 

Once you've checked in and received your welcome drinks, retreat to your contemporary, elegant hillside villa.  

Here, you can enjoy a plethora of amenities, including plush bedding, a writing desk, a powered safe, and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. The spacious en-suite bathroom comes with an oversized bathtub and dual vanity units. 

The highlight of the villa is the breathtaking views that span from the lush mangrove forests to the majestic Mount Kinabalu. Allow yourself some time to relax and immerse yourself in the tranquil ambiance of the golden hour. 

For dinner, five distinct restaurants await to satisfy every culinary desire: Feast Village, Fisherman's Cove, Omakase, Pool Bar & Lounge, and Tavajun Bay. Each venue offers a unique menu, ensuring that there's something to delight every palate.

Day 5 - Free & Easy at Gaya Island Resort

After a delicious breakfast, enjoy the day at your own pace. You can relax, stroll the beaches, swim in the pool, or unwind in your villa.

Optional activities include visiting the Gaya Island Resort Marine Centre to learn about sea turtle conservation and coral cultivation. You can also join a guided snorkelling session with the  Resident Marine Biologist or explore nature trails to spot wildlife like Proboscis Monkeys and Red Giant Flying Squirrels.

For a relaxing end to your day, you can visit the Spa Village for treatments inspired by Sabah's indigenous traditions. In the evening, choose to dine at a resort restaurant, take a beach walk, or relax in your villa. The choice is yours.

Day 6 - Gaya Island Resort / Kota Kinabalu Jetty / Kota Kinabalu International Airport / Departure or Extend Tour

After enjoying breakfast, check out from the Gaya Island Resort and take a scheduled speedboat ride to transfer you back to the mainland.    

Transfer to Kota Kinabalu International Airport for your flight or consider extending your trip in Sabah!

  • Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu Airport on the day of your tour, our friendly guide will greet and pick you up from the airport with a placard showing our Amazing Borneo Logo.
  • If you are arriving in Kota Kinabalu at night on Day 1, the North Borneo Cruises tour can be rescheduled to Day 3 upon returning to Kota Kinabalu after your Kinabalu Park tour.
  • Standard check-in and check-out times for most hotels & resorts are 1400Hrs & 1200Hrs. However, check-in & check-out times may vary depending on each accommodation. So kindly check with us to get accurate check-in & check-out times for your accommodation.
  • Effective as of 1st September 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia will be implementing a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTX). Foreign tourists will be required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night regardless of accommodation star level. The TTx is to be paid upon check-in. Malaysians or permanent residents residing in Malaysia are exempted from TTx and is required to present a valid identification upon check-in for the exemption.

Things You Should Know About North Borneo Cruises: 

  • Guests are to arrive at Sutera Marina Jetty at least 15 minutes prior to cruise departure.  
  • All seats will be assigned automatically. If you wish to choose a table type, you may reserve a table for a small surcharge. Please check with our Tour Consultant for availability. 
  • No outside food and beverages (including Tarap and Durian) are allowed onboard the North Borneo Cruises. There will be a corkage fee applicable for outside beverages. 
  • Consumption of drugs or contraband or conducting of any illegal activity onboard North Borneo Cruises is strictly prohibited.  North Borneo Cruises shall hold no responsibility or liability for any guests who participates in such activities. 
  • All guests are required to behave in a respectful manner to the Cruise Captain and all members of the Crew and Cruise Attendants and other guests.  Should any passenger display unruly or violent behaviour to anyone onboard North Borneo Cruises, the Operator reserves the right to involve the authorities once cruise has reached mainland. 
  • In any situation regarding the safety of the vessel and its passengers, the Cruise Captain holds full authority to make the final decision. 
  • The Operator/Cruise Captain reserves the right to refuse any passenger to board if they are displaying unruly behaviour under the influence of alcohol or drugs, without any refund. 
  • Any damages or loss to equipment onboard or the cruise due to negligence or unruly behaviour must be replaced or repaired by the passenger responsible.  
  • North Borneo Cruises will not be liable for any injury received by passengers that are caused due to negligence or unruly or violent behaviour onboard. 
  • Children (11 years and below) are to be always supervised by an adult. North Borneo Cruises crew and cruise attendants is not responsible or liable for them.  
  • Passengers with disabilities must be accompanied by a carer at all times. North Borneo Cruises crew and cruise attendants will take reasonable care in bringing them onboard but is not responsible or liable for their movement while onboard. 
  • We will require your passport/MYKAD number for registration. 

About Kinabalu Park & Poring Hot Spring:

  • Kinabalu Park is at a high altitude, approximately 1500 meters above sea level - it can get cold.
  • The Canopy Walkway is approximately 40 meters above the ground - not for the faint-hearted.
  • Poring Hot Spring Outdoor Bathtubs are for complimentary use and are free of charge. Guests can rent Indoor bathtubs but at their own expense.
  • There are only ten (10) standard and five (05) deluxe Indoor Bathubs at Poring Hot Spring. Rates are at MYR 15/- per hour per standard indoor bathtub and MYR 20/- per hour per deluxe indoor bathtub, payable on the spot but are subject to availability.
  • The Slide Pool located in Poring Hot Springs is closed every Monday for maintenance. Guests can purchase the entrance fee (at their own expense) to Slide Pool for MYR 3/- per person. Free for 6-year-olds and below.
  • Kindly take note that camera fees apply before entering Canopy Walk. Cameras will be charged MYR 5 each, and video cameras / camcorders will be charged MYR 30 each.
  • The Butterfly Farm at the Poring Hot Springs is closed every Monday.
  • Depending on the season, you may get the rare chance to spot the Rafflesia flowers in bloom, which only lasts for 3 to 5 days. They are located in the private gardens beside Poring Hot Springs. Entrance fees are at MYR 30 per person, though this will be at your own expense.
  • Stay warm! You may bring a sweater along with you as it can get a wee bit chilly up in Kinabalu Park.
  • Flight Timing Guide:
    • Arrival:
      It is recommended to book flights which arrive in Kota Kinabalu before 14:00hrs on the first day in order to make it for the North Borneo Cruises. If your flight arrives after 14:00hrs, we will reschedule your cruise session to Day 3. 
    • Departure:
      You can book any flight time for departure from Kota Kinabalu on your last day.
