Here, you’ll immerse yourself in the rich cultural tapestry of Sarawak by exploring the lifestyles, arts, crafts, and architecture of the seven major ethnic groups. Visit the traditional Longhouses representing the Iban, Bidayuh, and Orang Ulu communities, as well as the Melanau tall house. Day 2 - Fairy & Wind Caves / Semenggoh Orang Utan Centre / Kuching

Begin your day with a journey to explore Kuching’s unique limestone caves, located 22 km from the city in the historic mining town of Bau.

Your first stop is the Fairy Caves, where you’ll be greeted by a towering three-story chamber. With a flashlight in hand, explore the cave's impressive stalactites and stalagmites, and marvel at formations like the “Goddess of Mercy” and a figure resembling an old man.

Continue to the Wind Cave, known for its cool breeze and inhabited by bats and swiftlets. Walk along the platform to discover the cave’s unique limestone formations.

After lunch, visit the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre to meet the region’s charismatic orangutans in their natural habitat during feeding time. Learn about the centre’s efforts in rehabilitating these creatures, many of which are orphans rescued from illegal poaching. Keep an eye out for other wildlife, such as birds, gibbons, and more, in this sanctuary.
