Day 1 - Arrive in Tawau Airport / Transfer to Semporna / Check In

After your arrival at Tawau Airport, take a one-hour transfer to reach Semporna Seafest Jetty.   

Set off on a short boat transfer to the exclusive Shun Shun Water Bungalow, a luxurious haven nestled in the sea just off the shores of Semporna District. With 12 bungalow units, each featuring a private attached bathroom, the resort ensures the perfect blend of comfort and convenience.  

This retreat is heaven for snorkelling enthusiasts, offering the thrill of snorkelling and leisurely swimming in the pristine waters surrounding our exclusive resort area. Immerse yourself in the mesmerizing beauty of the sea, featuring crystal-clear waters that provide panoramic views of both the sunrise and sunset—a spectacle etched in your memory.  

Conclude your day with a leisurely dinner against the backdrop of breathtaking sea views, creating a tranquil atmosphere for relaxation. Rest and recharge as you prepare for the exciting tours planned on the second day.

Day 2 - Timba-Timba Island / Mataking Island / Shun Shun Water Bungalow

Embark on the first day of island exploration! Board a speedboat that will swiftly transport you to the tropical haven of Timba Timba Island in just 40 minutes.  

Upon arrival, prepare for an immersive snorkeling adventure in the crystal-clear waters of Timba-Timba. After an informative briefing, dive into the depths where you may have the fortune of encountering resting nurse sharks, barracudas, and a mesmerizing array of eels. 

Recharge with a delightful lunch break featuring a wholesome packed meal. The journey continues to the breathtaking Mataking Island, offering a glimpse of some of Sabah's finest marine life, including large schooling fish and incredible macro life. 

Return to Shun Shun Water Bungalow for a relaxed evening, allowing for free and easy activities, followed by an overnight rest.

Day 3 - Mabul Island / Kapalai Island / Shun Shun Water Bungalow

After having a scrumptious breakfast, set out for Mabul Island, initiating your day with an invigorating snorkelling or diving session.  

Recognized for its distinctive and rarely encountered creatures, Mabul Island is a haven for underwater enthusiasts, providing opportunities to spot snake eels, juvenile batfish, numerous pelagic reef fishes, and the occasional flamboyant cuttlefish during a standard dive.  

After indulging in a packed lunch, the adventure continues with a transfer to Kapalai Island. Here, crystal-clear waters invite you to another thrilling snorkelling session amidst the resort's picturesque surroundings.  

Dive into the clear waters surrounding Kapalai Island for another round of snorkelling or diving, exploring vibrant coral gardens, encountering fascinating marine life, and marvelling at the underwater landscapes. 

Discover photo-worthy spots around the Sipadan Kapalai Dive Resort, whether it's the overwater bungalows, wooden walkways, or the scenic surroundings. Ample opportunities await photography enthusiasts to capture the beauty of the island.  

Return to Shun Shun Water Bungalow for a leisurely evening, allowing for free and easy activities, followed by an overnight rest.

Day 4 - Semporna / Tawau Airport / Departure or Extend Tour

Start your day by relishing a delightful breakfast before checking out from Shun Shun Water Bungalow.   

Cruise back to Semporna Seafest Jetty via a scenic boat ride and seamlessly transfer to Tawau Airport for your departing flight or extending tour.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • For Shun Shun Water Bungalow:
    • Check-in time is at 14:00 Hrs, and check-out time is at 10:00 Hrs.  
    • Upon check-in, the receptionist will collect a security deposit of RM200 per room at the front desk.  
    • For guests wishing to partake in snorkelling and swimming activities around the resort area, there is a fee of RM50 per person for the rental of a life jacket, mask, and snorkel. 
    • Any loss or damage to the equipment will incur a charge of RM100. Complimentary use of a glass-bottom kayak is available. 
    • Boat transfers from Semporna Seafest Jetty to Shun Shun Water Bungalow are scheduled at 12:30 Hrs, 14:30 Hrs, and 17:30 Hrs. 
    • Departures from Shun Shun Water Bungalow to Semporna Seafest Jetty are at 08:00 Hrs, 10:00 Hrs, 14:00 Hrs, and 16:00 Hrs. 
    • Guests who are unable to follow the scheduled boat transfers will be subject to an additional charge of RM100 for each requested boat transfer in either direction. 
  • For Bohey Dulang Hike:
    • Kindly prepare RM50 in cash to cover the Ranger Fee at Bohey Dulang. This fee applies to groups of 1-6 pax. 
    • Sneakers or hiking boots are COMPULSORY for hiking. Sandals, flip-flops, and croc slippers are strictly not allowed. Sabah Parks has the right to ban hikers with improper shoewear. 
    • The shoe rental kiosk is no longer operating, so please remember to bring your own shoes.
    • In case of rain and the cancellation of the Bohey Dulang hiking, we will swap the activity to a snorkelling session.
    • Due to the limited number of rangers available, the waiting time can be 1-2 hours, depending on the time it took for the other groups to return to the foothill.
    • Children below 6 years old are not allowed to join the hiking activity.
    • Please be ready at the boat departure point at 08:00 Hrs. 
  • Boat journey to the Island(s) may not be suitable for individuals who have any of the following conditions but not limited to: heart or lung conditions, recent surgery, back or spinal surgery, back problems/injury/fracture, arthritis, osteoporosis or other similar spinal/pelvic diseases.   
  • Pregnant women are also not recommended as the boat ride may be bumpy depending on the sea condition. If you are having similar issues as above, kindly consult your physician before you enroll in this activity.  
  • Please do not bring valuables, as there are no lockers on the islands.  
  • Be a responsible snorkeler to protect our marine ecosystem.  
    • If we deem your snorkelling skills or attitude may bring harm to the marine life or other guests, the crew has the right to stop you from participating in this activity.  
    • It is strictly prohibited to remove, pick up, step on, or destroy any marine life during the trip.  
    • Follow the crew's instructions and do not snorkel separately from the group. Failure to do so will result in the crew stopping you from participating in the activity and no refunds will be made. 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • You will be responsible for obtaining your own visas to enter Sabah. 
  • Flights to and from Semporna will be at your own arrangement. Contact our Tour Consultants if you need assistance. 
  • You are strongly recommended to have your own personal travel insurance while traveling, to ensure a peace of mind. 
  • Your safety is our top priority. Should the weather or sea conditions render it unsafe to proceed for this tour, Amazing Borneo Tours reserves the right to change or cancel tour. 
  • If an accident(s) were to occur during the trip, all customers must return to the dive centre together. No refunds or change of date will be made. 
  • Departure time is approximate and varies from different hotels so please do reconfirm with our staffs. Please call the relevant telephone number as stated on the voucher before making alternative arrangements. 
  • Amazing Borneo Tours reserves the right to alter routes, timetables, itineraries and accommodation reserved should conditions beyond our control render it necessary.

USEFUL TRAVEL TIPS

  • Your belongings may get wet. You can bring along waterproof bags such as dry bags or plastic bags to keep your belongings nice and dry. 
  • Before going out for some fun in the sun, you may bring along some environmental-friendly SPF50 sunscreen and an umbrella to shield you from the sun.
