Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Canada Hill / Miri Petroleum Museum / Grand Old Lady / Tua Pek Kong Temple / Local Market / Piasau Nature Reserve (Optional)

Begin your day tour with a convenient pick-up from Miri Airport. 

Start at Canada Hill (also known as Power Hill) for the best views of Miri and its coast. Visit the Petroleum Museum, featuring exhibits on Malaysia's oil and gas history, including the famous Oil Well No. 1, the Grand Old Lady. 

Explore Tua Pek Kong Temple, the oldest temple in Miri having survived WWII bombings, reflecting Miri's growth from a fishing village to a resort city. 

Browse local shops and markets for herbs, handicrafts, and Kek Lapis Sarawak, a layered and colourful local cake. 

(Optional Activity at Additional Charge) Visit Piasau Nature Reserve for the Hornbill Conservation Centre preserving Borneo's native hornbill species, and explore its mangrove forests and tidal flats. 

Transfer to your hotel for check-in – the rest of the day is yours to spend at your leisure.

Day 2 - Miri / Immigration Border / Billionth Barrel Monument / Kampung Ayer / Mangrove Boat Tour / Gadong Night Market

Good morning! Wake up and enjoy your breakfast at the hotel before preparing for your next journey.

You will be picked up from your Miri hotel around 11:00 Hrs - 12:00 Hrs for a 3-hour journey to Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. Please ensure you have your own lunch before pick up.

Make a stop at the Billionth Barrel Monument, a landmark in Kuala Belait celebrating Brunei’s oil production history. 

Enjoy a boat ride through Kampung Ayer – called the Venice of the East – where you have opportunities to spot Proboscis Monkeys and other wildlife, and visit a local home for refreshments. 

Explore Gadong Night Market, Brunei’s largest night market with a variety of local and exotic foods. 

After dinner, transfer back to your Brunei hotel for check-in and rest.

Day 3 - Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque / Royal Regalia / Malay Technology Museum / Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque / Istana Nurul Iman / Immigration Border / Miri

After breakfast, enjoy a convenient pick-up and transfer to Jame Asr Hassanil Mosque, an architectural gem commissioned by Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, featuring 29 golden domes. 

Explore the Royal Regalia, featuring exhibits of the Sultan's treasures and jubilees. 

After lunch at a local restaurant, make your way to the Malay Technology Museum to learn about traditional technologies used by Kampung Ayer residents through detailed exhibits. 

Pay a visit to the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, another architectural marvel and one of Asia Pacific’s most beautiful mosques. 

Stop for a photo-taking session at Istana Nurul Iman, the world’s largest living residence of a state head. 

Transfer back to Miri for hotel check-in and rest.

Day 4 - Miri Airport

  • Things to consider when visiting Brunei: 
    • Please dress modestly and avoid wearing short pants and sleeveless shirts. 
    • Please note the mosques are closed to visitors on Fridays. 
    • Guests should complete the E-Arrival Card registration via https://www.imm.gov.bn/ before arriving at the Immigration Control Post.   
  • Please ensure you are holding air ticket to Miri. 
  • Standard check-in and check-out times for most hotels and resorts are 1400 hrs & 1200 hrs. However, check-in and check-out times may vary depending on each accommodation. So kindly check with us to get accurate check-in and check-out times for your accommodation. 
  • Effective as of 1st September 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia will be implementing a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTx). Foreign tourists will be required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night regardless of accommodation star level. The TTx is to be paid upon check-in. Malaysians or permanent residents residing in Malaysia are exempted from TTx and is required to present a valid identification upon check-in for the exemption.
