Sample itinerary

Day 1 - Sandakan / Sepilok Nature Lodge / Sepilok Orang Utan Rehab Centre / Sepilok Forest Trails

Upon your arrival at Sandakan Airport, you'll be promptly picked up and whisked away to Sepilok Nature Lodge.

A scenic half-hour drive will bring you to the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve, where rehabilitating orangutans freely roam their natural habitat. At the Nature Education Centre, you'll start with a short video that offers insight into the vital work being done within the reserve.

Next, you'll take a leisurely 10-minute stroll along a boardwalk through lush lowland rainforest, leading to the feeding platform viewing point. Here, you'll be rewarded with the sight of orangutans (Pongo pygmaeus) swinging from branch to branch for their morning meal at 10:00 Hrs.

Keep your eyes open for a chance to spot both long-tailed and pig-tailed macaques along the way. Afterwards, return to the reception centre to explore the displays and exhibits at the Information Centre.

Lunch will be served at the lodge, and the rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure.

At 15:00 Hrs, another orangutan feeding session takes place. You can opt for a self-guided walk along the boardwalk to witness this captivating experience.

As evening approaches, join a guided tour along the Sepilok Forest Trails to discover the nocturnal animals and insects that come alive after dark.

Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Sepilok Nature Lodge.

Day 2 - Labuk Bay Excursion

After breakfast, enjoy your free time at leisure. You'll be picked up from Sepilok Nature Lodge at 10:30 Hrs and taken to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary for the 11:00 Hrs feeding session. Afterwards, you'll be dropped off at Sepilok Nature Lodge for lunch around 13:00 Hrs. The afternoon is free for you to relax at your leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Sepilok Nature Lodge.

Optional Tours Available (Additional Costs Applicable) :
a) Early Morning Jungle Walk (0600hrs)= MYR 90 per person  and/or
b) Sandakan City Tour (1430hrs) = MYR 130 per person  and/or
c) Another guided tour to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre (1430hrs) Video show at 1530hrs = MYR 100 per person

Day 3 - Sepilok Nature Lodge / Sandakan

After breakfast, say goodbye to the charming orangutans as you prepare for your transfer to Sandakan Airport for departure.
