OVERVIEW OF THE LOCATION

Approximately 2 and a half hours drive away from Sandakan, the Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort (BNSBR) is an eco-resort set at the renowned Kinabatangan River and surrounded by lush, tropical greenery – one of the best of Sabah’s untouched wilderness.

Visitors will be whisked on a magical wildlife experience to observe Borneo’s highlights, which include Proboscis Monkeys, Orang Utans, Pygmy Elephants, all 8 species of Hornbills, and Crocodiles, amongst other wildlife. This is also the ultimate birdwatcher’s haven with over 200 species of birds in the area.

Sample itinerary

Day 1 - SANDAKAN / KINABATANGAN RIVER CRUISE (PM) / BORNEO NATURAL SUKAU BILIT LODGE

  • Pick up from designated location in Sandakan town.
  • Travel to the village of Bilit located in Sukau and proceed to the Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort by boat along the Kinabatangan River.
  • Arrive at Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort.
  • A short briefing on the overview of the resort and general safety precautions will be given by the staff.
  • Check-in to your eco-lodge.
  • At 1600hrs, river cruise adventure along the Kinabatangan River in search of Bornean-endemic wildlife such as proboscis monkeys, orang utans, pygmy elephants, and many more!
  • Head back to the resort for dinner.
  • After dinner, return to your eco-lodge for an overnight stay at Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort.

Day 2 - KINABATANGAN RIVER CRUISE (AM) / SANDAKAN

  • Awaken to the calls of gibbons and hornbills prompting you out of your room for an early morning river cruise along the Kinabatangan River!
  • Return to the resort to recharge with a hearty breakfast.
  • Check out of your lodge.
  • Depart to Sandakan Airport or your respective hotel in Sandakan town.

  • Please ensure you are holding air ticket to Sandakan.
  • Scheduled pick up transfers to the Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort are arranged at the following times and locations daily: 
    • 1145hrs @ Wisma Khoo / Behind Suntos Supermarket
    • 1215hrs @ Sandakan Airport (Strictly for guest arriving before the pick up time only)
    • 1245hrs @ Sepilok Area (Sepilok Centre / Accommodation)
    • 1345hrs @ Medan Selera Coffee House, Bukit Garam Kota Kinabatangan
  • Standard check-in and check-out times for most hotels & resorts are 1400 Hrs & 1200 Hrs. However, check-in & check-out times may vary depending on each accommodation. So kindly check with us to get accurate check-in & check-out times of your accommodation.
  • The night walk activity is available as an optional tour and can only be arranged upon arrival at the resort.
  • Effective as of 1st September 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia will be implementing a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTX).
